| What a blessing this CD has been to our family. I have always loved Sawyer Brown, but veered away from them and country music when I started walking closer to my Lord. I was watching the Gospel channel, and lo and behold they had Sawyer Brown on there singing Christian music. Was I ever thrilled!! I immediately started searching for their music, and came across this CD right before Christmas. The songs on this CD are so awesome, I will listen to it all year long. When you think of Sawyer Brown you think of country music, but not so fast, "Hallelujah He Is Born" is an excellent CD for any Christmas collection.
The group Sawyer Brown formed in 1981, and in 1983 they got a boost into the mainstream by winning Star Search (the American Idol of its time). Since then, they have assembled 20 albums with many of their songs hitting the country charts. And they have proven on the road, over and over again, to be excellent live performers.
In 1997, Mark Miller (lead vocals) along with Gregg Hubbard (keyboards) wrote and co-wrote 6 out of the 12 songs that help bring out the joy, reverence and solemnness of the Christmas season. The songs "Oh What a Night in Bethlehem" and "Glory to the King" are timeless. The music is definitely a gift back to Christmas.
This collection of songs crosses genres and eras; and evokes the true spirit of Christmas. It is truly a contemporary classic.
