Item description for Dead Heat (Last Jihad) by Joel Rosenberg...
2009 Retailer's Choice Award winner! The stage is set for war. Oil prices are surging to record highs. A new dictator is rising in Iraq. China is threatening Taiwan. North Korean forces appear ready to strike south. Israel is feverishly trying to complete the Third Temple. And in the midst of a world ready to explode, American president James MacPherson's second term is ending. Now as a fiercely contested presidential election campaign approaches, America faces its greatest threat ever . . . One from which it might not recover. From New York Times best-selling novelist Joel C. Rosenberg comes an explosive new political thriller addressing the question of what, if any, role the United States will play in the end times. This book is sure to provoke discussion and controversy, along with fervent hopes that this frightening vision of the future will not come true.

Reviews - What do customers think about Dead Heat?
 | Political Thriller of Biblical Proportions Aug 12, 2009 |
This is my first dive into a Joel Rosenberg book, maybe because I've only heard of his writings in the secular circles, but I must say I was thoroughly impressed. I thought it would be heavy on the political and light on the Biblical but I was very wrong. Joel has written a strong political thriller from a solid biblical worldview, which unfortunately is not as common as you'd think in the Christian fiction circles. It was the negative reviews that prompted me to read this book and for that I'm grateful.
The storyline was gripping and about as chilling as I can possibly stand. Many twists and surprises that I didn't see coming make the book quite a page-turner. I also like how the events in the book are as current as today's headlines. Even the history and military facts are accurate. (I looked them up because I was curious.) Only the names of certain people have been changed so as not to offend anyone.
"Dead Heat" asks the question "Why isn't the United States mentioned in End Times prophecy?" That's been asked and researched for many years and Joel makes a quest into a possible answer. Not only is his answers possible but they are probable. I just hope I'm not here to find out. How do people live in this chaotic world and not have a relationship with Jesus Christ? I just couldn't imagine.
I give the book 5 stars for it's life-changing message, 4 stars for the storyline and 3 for the writing.
Buy some copies and spread them around. Both Christians and non-believers need the urgency of the message. Our time is shorter then we may think.

| This book had me on the edge of my seat the entire time. It's a fabulous book with unexpected twists and turns. Readers won't be dissapointed! | | | | spiritual fiction Jul 15, 2009 |
| Excellent book. It is one of a four book series. Unfortunately, the publisher did not number them, so when I started reading the series I read them out of order. I definitely would recommend all of Joel Rosenberg's books. It discusses the end times and the upcoming war in the middleast, that will bring about World War 3. It may be fiction, but it is very close to reality and what could happen in the near future. | | | | jacks perspective Jul 6, 2009 |

| If this series doesn't make you stop and think, then you're not living in the same world as me! Often, as I was reading this book in particular, I was unsure what were the daily headlines and what had I just read the night before in the book! I had been borrowing this series, but wanted a set for myself so I could loan them out to family and friends. | | | Write your own review about Dead Heat
