Item description for The Socialization Trap by Rick Boyer...
Overview Most home educators reject school for their children partly because of the damage done to themselves by the pressures of the age-peer social group. Yet many parents try to replace lost "social contact" by placing their children in a variety of age-graded activities that re-create the peer pressure all over again. This book tells why you don`t need to! The answer you need to the constant question, "What about socialization?" |

Reviews - What do customers think about The Socialization Trap?
 | An excellent response to the "socialization" question Oct 26, 2001 |
| I was so glad to find a book that clearly and Biblically explains how home education provides the healthiest socialization environment for children. I think it is a MUST read for anyone considering homeschooling or anyone who is currently homeschooling. The author is a homeschool father of twelve who provides the reader with rich ammunition to respond to what is now the standard objection of the world to homeschooling. He details the common myths of socialization and how it is the age segregated institutionalized school, not the family school, that is a socialization nightmare. He also warns homeschoolers not to fall back into a socialization trap by mimicing the world's age segregated social scenarios. I loved this book. | | | Write your own review about The Socialization Trap
