Overview
Meet the Garden gang before they grew up!Sitting
around a camp fire on a beautiful star-lit night, the garden gang is talking
about their favorite memories. Antonio recounts the Garden Olympics, but admits
he was a scrawny kid-ant whose parents did not think he would ever amount to
much. Flo confesses she used to be shy and introverted. Turns out all Hermie
and Friends' adventures are made possible by the things that happened to them
as kids. And it's also clear that God has had a plan for all of the garden
characters right from the start - as long as they had the sense to listen and
follow God's message. Includes new and previous animation.

Reviews - What do customers think about Hermie & Friends: Who Is In Charge Anyway??

Hermie and Friends  Jun 10, 2010
Although I try to limit the amount of TV my boys, ages 3 and 5 watch, there are times when I need them quiet and occupied while their baby sister naps or I clean the house. For times like this, I'm always looking for high-quality children's programming, preferably with a positive or educational message.

When Hermie and Friends: Who is in Charge Anyway showed up in our mailbox, the boys were excited to watch it. They're not terribly big into Veggie Tales or anything unrelated to motorized vehicles, so I wasn't optimistic that this would hold their attention, but I was pleasantly surprised.

The story revolves around a flea, Freddie, who learns that God has a special purpose for all of us and that we all have a special role to play in his plan. The lesson incorporates biblical truth and is based on Psalm 90:16, "Show your servants the wonderful things you do; show your greatness to their children."

As I watched this DVD with them, I thought the story was initially hard to follow. It incorporates the use of several flashbacks with characters who were previously unfamiliar to us since we haven't read the Hermie books or seen other episodes of the series. However, the story kept the boys' interest and they really enjoyed it. I appreciated the positive biblical message and would feel very comfortable allowing my children to watch other episodes in the Hermie series.
