Since reading this book its like my soul has opened up.
I already knew a lot of the stuff she talks about but I never actualy accepted what I believe if that makes any since?
I like the way she is blunt and to the point but still says it in love and kindness instead of in judgementalism and legalistic abuse like many other christian speakers have done. Joyce said it like it is and said it in love and truthfullness.
As a female sexual abuse surviver I am more receptive to counceling from a female because Im often uncomfortable or creeped out by males. I would not have received the teachings of a male on this subject very well so this book by a female auther was just right for me.
Now I have come a long ways. Not just because of this book but because of God and my willness to do right. I could now better receive counceling from a male if I had to. Healing is great, it opens up so many more doors in life!
Joyce Meyer is a sexual abuser surviver also so she understands whats its like therefor she is better able to help those who have had abuse. This book is not just for those who have been sexualy abused but for those who have been in all kinds of abuse. I don't agree with everything she says because I'm not a Biblical fundamentalist, but I still found my faith in God strengthened, and found many of the Biblical passages to be inspirational to me. | If you are trying to figure out if you should purchase this book! Please do! It is truly the best gift you could give to others and especially yourself. The enemy wants us to feel hopeless. Mrs. Meyer not only shows us hope through God's word she gives you the tools to walk it out as well. This book is laid out in a way that you literally feel like you are in counceling with God. God wants to set us free from the Bondage the enemy tries to keep us in.
