Item description for Amrach and the Paraclete by Glass John...
A Christian fantasy adventure in which Amrach encounters the supernatural
A Christian fantasy adventure in which Amrach encounters the supernatural
Publishers Description Many children have been captivated by the Harry Potter books. It has awakened a whole generation to spiritual issues. Amrach and the Paraclete explores spiritual issues from a Christian point of view rather than an occult perspective. The book follows the exciting story of Amrach as he interacts with the Paraclete (Holy Spirit) and is introduced to the primary hero figure, the Lion (Christ). The story is set in a fantasy world outside time and space. Written mainly for children, this will also appeal to adults as it highlights issues such as the supernatural, guidance, forgiveness, the power of repentance, dead religion and spiritual warfare. Appropriate for children aged 8 and over. For anyone who enjoys Harry Potter. Entertaining and gripping science-fiction. Fiction with a Christian message. |

Reviews - What do customers think about Amrach and the Paraclete?
 | Good Christian Fantasy Story May 23, 2010 |
The story is set outside time and is a fantasy which aims at presenting an alternative to much of the secular material which often has a darker edge. The character of the title Amrach sets out to raise an army for the Lion in an attempt to battle the evil princes of Harag. The Lion as in the Narnia stories represents Christ and the other character from the title, the Paraclete, represents the Holy Spirit. The story is beautifully written and is a good, Biblical story that remains fun without losing the message. Good book to buy for your children.
I'd also recommend thses brilliant Christian Fiction books which are aimed at a teenage/adult readership:
Godstone - The Kairos Boxes
Chosen Ones (Aedyn Chronicles, The)
The Secret of Indigo Moon (The Dopple Ganger Chronicles)
