Item description for No Place To Cry: The Hurt and Healing of Sexual Abuse by Van Stone, Doris & ...
Overview Dorie considered herself ugly, unloved, and dirty as the result of childhood sexual abuse. Then she gave her life to God--and He made something beautiful of it. No Place to Cry is the story of her struggle and her victory. With the same tenderness with which she wrote Dorie, the Girl Nobody Loved, Dorie Van Stone takes us beyond generalizations and statistics to convey the tragic events of her childhood. Dorie knows what it is like to be neglected emotionally, to be defiled physically, and to search desperately but find no place to cry. She also knows of the blessing that came when she was thirteen--a Christian student visited her orphanage and introduced her to a God who loves even the unloved. Having been shunned by her parents "like an unwanted dog," and mercilessly abused in several foster homes, Dorie clung to the unconditional love of God that so many take for granted. Just as God gave her a tender heart to forgive her abusers, He also provided Dorie with strength to reveal her past in this volume. Through Dorie's candor, you will gain insight into the trauma of abuse and also knowledge of the steps to recovery for those unfortunate enough to have been affected by this plight.
Publishers Description Just as God gave Dorie Van Stone a tender heart to forgive her abusers, He also gave her the strength to reveal her past in No Place to Cry, the sequel to the best-seller Dorie: The Girl Nobody Loved. Through her candor you will gain insight into the trauma of emotional and sexual abuse. |

Reviews - What do customers think about No Place To Cry: The Hurt and Healing of Sexual Abuse?
 | Dorie's story of hope and healing Nov 3, 2006 |
| This is Dorie Van Stone's complete story - the sometimes graphic details that were left out of her book, "Dorie, the Girl Nobody Loved". This book gives hope to those who have been abused or who work with those who have. God had his hand on Dorie and brought her full circle to a place of healing where she is now ministering to others - an amazing true story! | | | | Great testamony about God's love and power to heal Mar 15, 1999 |
| My friend told me about this book and asked me to read it. This is a great testamony about what God can do to help people in the low place. Doris story realy touched my heart and it woke me up about how many people are sexyualy abuesd and what terrible exspirience this is. We, I and my friend wanted to do something about it. We wanted more people to heare Doris story, so they would be able to get some help if this had happend to them, so we transleted her book from english into Icelandic. I have heard that it helped many people here in Iceland to get healing from God after they read this book. Arni | | | Write your own review about No Place To Cry: The Hurt and Healing of Sexual Abuse
