The Companion Bible is IMO the best Bible out there today for understanding the Word of God. Used with the Strongs Concordance it will allow you to learn the truth sometimes not taught in churches. I recommend it to all who are confused by traditions of men so often practiced by organized religions. I bought this one as a gift for a friend. I've had mine for years.

The Companion Bible: Enlarged print contains a great deal of analysis of the KJV Bible. In my opinion, this Bible is a must for a serious Bible student. The price is excellent, it took the better half of two weeks to receive after the order was confirmed. I noticed that a handful of pages were not cut correctly and were neatly folded back (a printing error), only five or six pages and this does not effect the use of the Bible.

Although almost a hundred years old...this Study Bible is still THE BEST Bible to have. Folks, I have bought all of the famous study bibles in print..Dakes's, Thomson Chain Reference, the Old and the New Scofield, Ryrie etc, etc. This is the BEST one volume Reference Bible for the money. There is such a wealth of information here that you will not be able to read in in one lifetime probably. What is probably the best thing about this bible is that ALL of the work has already been done for you. There is no need to go back and forth in your Strong's Concordance because the key Hebrew and Greek words are already identified and explained. Plus the appendixes in the back are a virtual Bible Reference library in itself. Sometimes I find myself just thumbing through the articles in the back just to gain more knowledge. Most recommended!!!

This study Bible was produced almost a century ago by "the indefatigueable Bible student" Ethelbert W. Bullinger, and no doubt, his corps of assistants. Without using a computer, this Bible is STILL the best study Bible on the market, bar none. It takes some time to learn how to use, but once the reader has comprehended the outlines, and the special indexing into the marginal notes, he will discover it is the best Bible help on the market today. Nothing else even comes close, including very sophisticated computer versions. What is of most value to the reader are the outlines, and language helps. Some of Bullinger's interpreatations of Scripture are spurious and, in my opinion, self-serving, especially his hyper-dispensational view of water baptism. In my opinion, it's all too convenient for his Presbyterian clergyman background as the denomination does not and did not systematically practice water baptism. His view of the parables of Matthew 13 is also quite wrong, and, paradoxically, seems to defy dispensational interpretation of which he is otherwise a major proponent. Nevertheless, with some supplementary help, this difficulty can be overcome without throwing this Bible out with the bathwater. No study Bible can substitute for true meditation, and I do not think this Bible will impart to the reader the "form of sound words" which is the necessary outline of Scripture: that must be done by a living person. But if one already has retained such an outline, this Bible will become your daily reading Bible. I have several of these so that I can keep one in my home, office, and at church. I also keep a couple new ones around to give out to people who seem serious about the bible, although it is indeed rare that they use it. I will point out that, as a consistent user of this Bible, I am not slavishly attached to its interpretations, which, by the way, are not many. For instance, this Bible notes the acrostic that is formed by those buried in the cave of Machpelah : (I)ssac, (S)arah, (R)ebekkah, (A)braham, and (Leah), composing Jacob's assigned name (Israel). This brought home to me what it apparentlky did not bring to the author: that Israel is the treasure hid in a field in Matthew 13. All this being said, these Bibles should not be as expensive as they are, even though they are well worth it. Nevertheless, you would not spend a better $200 even if it cost that much. Buy the truth and sell it not.
