Item description for Covenant Child (Repack) (Women Of Faith Fiction) by Terri Blackstock & ...
Overview The press called them "Billion Dollar Babies," heirs to one of the largest fortunes in the country. But upon the deaths of their father and grandparents, the court system places them with their cruel maternal grandparents who squander the children's inheritance in gambling casinos. Kara and Lizzie grow up believing they are worthless until they learn the truth.
Publishers Description
Beautiful, three-year-old twins Kara and Lizzie Holbrooke live a charmed life with their widowed but doting father, Jack. When Jack finds love and marries again, it seems all their lives will finally be "happy ever after." That new life shatters when Jack and his wealthy parents are killed in a plane crash. Jack's new wife, Amanda, inherits the family's estate but fails to gain custody of the twins. Devastated but bound by her covenant to care for the girls, Amanda manages the estate, hopeful she'll be able to return it to Kara and Lizzie one day. Meanwhile, the twins grow up in an abysmal home environment with distant family members and become hard-drinking, shoplifting, promiscuous teenagers. After years of trying to reach them, Amanda is finally able to offer them love, comfort, wealth--the life they have always wanted. But when all you've known is deprivation, how can you believe a gift of grace? When you've been lied to for so long, how can you ever know the truth? Intensely involving, emotionally charged, and infused with hope, "Covenant Child" is an inspiring story that challenges us to embrace the life God holds out to us. |

Reviews - What do customers think about Covenant Child (Repack) (Women Of Faith Fiction)?
 | Heart felt Nov 12, 2007 |
Covenant Child (Women of Faith Fiction #4) Great book, modern story similar to the one of the Bibles Prodigal son. Great for an easy read, will touch your heart. This story touched my heart and made me think of all the times i was like either one of these girls going through tough times while their inheritance was at their finger tips. | | | | A Touching Read Aug 12, 2007 |
| I must admit that when I first started this book, I thought it was going to be one of those overly-simplified, pit-pat books that lack any real depth. The read seemed to be too quick, too simple. I was wrong. By the second chapter, I was deeply invested in the outcome, and as I read on, I saw a wonderful picture of God's grace played out before my very eyes. By the final pages of the book, I was in tears. I'm so thankful that I chose Lizzie's path in my own life, that I accepted my inheritance gladly. But I'm also thankful that, like Amanda, God continues to offer his grace and forgiveness, and that the Karas of the world are always welcome home. | | | | Great Book Aug 7, 2007 |
| I loved this book. I couldn't put it down. Normally a very slow reader, I read this book in 3 days. | | | | I absolutely LOVED this book! Jul 19, 2006 |
| I am so excited to have found a new author to read. Terri Blackstock's book the Covenant Child had me from the first page. It is a book about love, death, money, greed, grace, faith, and trust. Amanda's character in the book reminded me of the Lord and the unconditional love He pours out on His children even when we want nothing to do with Him and the happiness we can find in life by studying His Word and following Him. I recommend this book to everyone who enjoys a good read---just be prepared to have to read it straight through. | | | | WRITE A LITTLE FASTER TERRI May 29, 2006 |
| I read this book in a day. It was so good and touching. It makes you think about kids out there are treated like this everyday. I shed some tears it was so good.
